Goodlands started out of a community garden plot at the Woodlands Cemetery, where our founder, Anna Dausman, first grew ghost peppers and began recipe testing from her garden. Goodlands now primarily sources from local farms & producers as often as possible. Job Description As Goodlands continues to grow, we’re looking for fellow hot sauce-enthusiasts to join our farmers market team in the Greater Philadelphia region. As part of this job, you’ll represent Goodlands at our regional summer markets and engage with both new and returning customers. We’re looking for reliable and hard-working representatives with an outgoing personality and who, of course, stan the sauce. This role is a good fit for you if:You love hot sauce!You enjoy working outsideYou’re comfortable working in all-weather marketsYou enjoy meeting & chatting with customers This role probably isn’t a fit for you if:You’d prefer working indoorsYou don’t enjoy talking to peopleYou really don’t like hot sauceYou’re not available to work weekends Responsibilities of the Role Picking up market materials (tent, product, and merchandise) from our West Philadelphia kitchen & transporting to the market Set-up and breakdown of table, tent, product, and merchandise Actively selling products at markets Answering questions & providing product recommendations to customers Offering samples to customers (following food safety protocols & city guidelines) Able to work independently while demonstrating sound decision-making and problem solving Handling payments (cash, Square, etc.) Communicating with team lead re: timing, sales, and any on-site concerns Returning market materials (tent, product, and merchandise) to our West Philadelphia kitchen after market closing Job Requirements Must be 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a mid-size vehicle. Lifting, carrying, moving boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time mostly in outdoor conditions, rain or shine. Weekend availability Sales experience preferred, but not required. On the job training provided. COVID-19 vaccination required Pay: $15/hr (including transit time to/from markets), and up to 5% sales commission Schedule: Must be able to work 2-3 Thursdays, Saturdays, or Sundays per month.
